On Thursday, April 21, 2016, expert speaker Brenda Wollenberg visited Conestogo PS to share knowledge and practical tips with our extended school community about optimizing our children’s ability to learn, general attitude, and overall well-being.

A specialist in natural wellness programs for children, teens and adults, Brenda has been featured on TV and podcasts, including Jonathan Bailor’s Smarter Science of Slim podcasts. Her numerous articles have been published in magazines such as Canadian Living, Maclean’s, and Family Fun.
Author of the book Overweight Kids in a Toothpick World: Easy Weight Loss for Teens and Children, a practical manual for families dealing with childhood obesity, Brenda Wollenberg has redefined the path to both family and adult wellness through her In Balance Wellness and Weight Release Programs—safe, simple and sustainable systems that combine home learning modules, weekly online support, and weekend live intensives.
She loves discovering effective, down-to-earth steps to increased health, and helping others along on that journey. Her decades of experience as a social worker, pastor, and nutritionist have empowered her to uniquely and compassionately share on body, mind, and spirit wellness in a variety of settings, including personalized one-on-one consults; classrooms of elementary, high school and university students; courses for young immigrants; and roomfuls of conference and workshop attendees. All of it, however—the passion for wellness, the teaching and the learning—starts at home with her husband, Mark, and their amazingly wonderful five children ages, 20-31.
